GRECRIN will host the International Clinical Trials Day 2024 in Thessaloniki on May 23rd 2024.

Mark your calendars and join us on May 23rd 2024, as we celebrate International Clinical Trials Day.

This global event, launched by ECRIN in 2005, brings together patients, health policy actors, health authorities, clinical researchers, health professionals and citizens from Europe, and beyond to discuss issues related to multinational clinical trials.

This year, the discussions and presentations will focus on: Data Centric Clinical Research.

What is International Clinical Trials Day?

ICTD commemorates the start of the landmark clinical trial, led by James Lind on sailors with scurvy, 20 May 1747. Acknowledging its foundational role in shaping contemporary clinical research, ECRIN annually honors this milestone, addressing a new topic in clinical research every year around this significant date.

Join us for this day dedicated to insightful discussions, informative sessions, and networking opportunities with professionals who are shaping the landscape of clinical research.

This year’s topic: Data Centric Clinical Research.

With the data revolution playing an increasing role in all aspects of clinical research this year we will focus on some of the impacts, benefits and challenges of the rise of data and technology. Different stakeholders from the community will share their experiences on topics ranging from the integration of the new technical assets, eHealth, data science, the data protection legislation and collaboration of academia and industry, among others.

Join the event, live or remotely!

This event is organised by ECRIN (European Clinical Research Infrastructure Network), and its Greek scientific partner, GRECRIN, who will co-host this event.

ICTD this year will be a hybrid event, direct from Thessaloniki, that will run from 9:00 to 5:30 CEST. This event is free and welcomes participants both onsite and online.

The ECRIN Assembly of Members approved the membership of Greece, and will be joined by Kostas Stamatopoulos, Research Director of the Institute of Applied Biosciences at CERTH. ECRIN has worked with Greek scientific partners on various projects, and ECRIN’s Operations Director, Christine Kubiak, is extremely delighted to take this collaboration to the next level. Working together with the Greek scientific community, and building a structuring Greek network for multinational clinical research is in line with ECRIN’s mission and vision. With Greece joining ECRIN as a Member country, ECRIN now has a total of 13 Member and Observer states. ECRIN’s network now counts: Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Slovakia and Switzerland.
